About Family Bridge of Hope

Our approach is targeted, holistic, inclusive, humane, and sustainable.

Our Story

We deliver true results, focusing on strategic decisions and practical actions tailored to our clients' unique reality.

Family Bridge of Hope (FBH) began its journey as Families Mentoring Families CBO, a small community effort dedicated to walking alongside girls, women and youth in vulnerable situations. After five years of impact, the organization transformed and relaunched in 2024 as Family Bridge of Hope-a name that reflects its renewed mission to reach farther, touch more lives, and build stronger, more hopeful communities.

During its early years, the FBH team came face to face with the struggles of teen mothers and young women survivors of sexual and gender-based violence, both local and refugee. They witnessed the deep scars of stigma, rejection, and poverty, and the silence that too often follows such pain. From these powerful encounters, Family Bridge of Hope (FBH) was born: a transformative journey that supports teen mothers and young women survivors to rise again as confident entrepreneurs, compassionate community leaders, and courageous agents of change. Alongside this, FBH works with boys and men as allies, nurturing a culture of positive masculinity, respect, empathy, and equality.

Guided by an adaptive and people-centered approach, FBH has grown into a trusted convener and bridge-builder for women’s and youth empowerment-one that heals hearts, rebuilds livelihoods, and restores hope.

Mission and Vision

Inspired by the transformative power of compassion and justice, FBH seeks to walk alongside, empower, and advocate for vulnerable women and girls, ensuring they find healing, dignity, and the strength to shape their own futures. Together, we build bridges of hope and impact across communities.

Justice is at the heart of FBH’s mission.
The organization actively advocates for the rights of

eliminate systemic injustices such as gender-based
violence and discrimination. FBH collaborates with
legal and social institutions to create a just society

FBH recognizes that different individuals and
communities face unique challenges. Therefore, the
organization prioritizes equity by tailoring its interventions
to meet the specific needs of disadvantaged
groups, including survivors of gender-based violence,
persons with disabilities, and ethnic minorities.
This ensures that resources and opportunities are
distributed in a way that levels the playing field for all.

Collaboration is key to FBH’s success. The organization
fosters a culture of teamwork among its staff,
volunteers, and community partners to achieve
collective impact. By leveraging diverse skills and
perspectives, FBH enhances its ability to deliver
effective programs and maximize positive change.

FBH is dedicated to serving vulnerable communities
with compassion and dedication. The organization
continuously strives to uplift individuals through
education, skills training, and advocacy, ensuring that

The organization ensures that decision-making
processes, financial management, and program
implementation are open and accessible to
stakeholders, including beneficiaries, donors, and
partners. This fosters trust and credibility in its work.

FBH is committed to being accountable to the
communities it serves, its donors, and its partners.
The organization regularly evaluates its programs,
measures impact, and reports on progress to ensure
that resources are used effectively and responsibly.

FBH operates with the highest standards of
professionalism. The organization ensures that its
staff and volunteers adhere to ethical practices,

to better serve the community.

What We Do

Our work is guided by a commitment to advancing gender equality, social justice, and sustainable community transformation. We focus our efforts through the following Change Arenas, Accelerators, and Enablers.

Our Thematic Areas

FBH works across five interconnected thematic areas designed to restore dignity, build resilience, and advance equality for women, girls, youth, and other persons of concern. Each area reflects our survivor-centred, inclusive, and empowerment-driven approach.

Ending Violence Against Women and Girls (EVAWG)

We work to create safe, respectful, and just communities where women and girls live free from all forms of violence.

Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS)

We promote mental and emotional well-being and healing as a foundation for empowerment and recovery.

Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)

We ensure that young women, girls, and youth can make informed choices about their bodies and futures.

Economic Empowerment & Household Resilience (EE&HHR)

We empower women, youth, and SGBV survivors to achieve economic independence and build stronger households.

Governance & Policy Advocacy (GPA) (Cross-Cutting)

We champion inclusive governance, accountability, and policy reforms that amplify women’s and youth voices.

Healing Hearts. Building Skills. Empowering Futures.

At Family Bridge of Hope, our intervention model is anchored in a simple but powerful truth: healing and empowerment must go hand in hand.

Our Heal • Skill • Empower model

Our Heal • Skill • Empower model weaves together trauma recovery, practical skills training, and entrepreneurship support-helping young mothers, survivors of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), and youth rebuild their confidence, independence, and dignity.

The Heal • Skill • Empower Model

Heal: Participants begin their journey with professional counselling (individual and group) and peer healing circles, creating safe spaces to process trauma, rediscover self-worth, and find emotional strength.

Skill: They then move into hands-on trade and apprenticeship programs such as tailoring, pastry and catering, masonry, hair and beauty, plumbing, and agribusiness-gaining practical skills for sustainable livelihoods.

Empower: Finally, participants are trained on financial literacy and supported to launch small businesses through seed funding, start-up loans, and mentorship, turning their skills into income and independence.

By 2030, FBH aims to directly empower 5,000 women and young girls, 1,000 youth, and reach over 200,000 community members-nurturing a generation of resilient, self-reliant women and empowered youth.

“This is the future we’re building-one where every teen girl, every survivor, and every youth becomes a success story.”
